I just reported your problem, or really, a lot! of people's problem, to the NVDA ticket system, which is among 9 other differnet NVDA topics I mentioned as well.

Hmmm.
One trick I learned, is to minimize to the desktop first, before pressing control-alt-shift-k. )control-shift-k.)
NVDA in general however, has been having focus issues.
