Although I can give you no advice regarding your question, I personally would not use java. Designing GUIs is really a pain, not to mention that you need a quit ehuge interpreter,... Show post

It has No pointers, classes, dll creation, structures, etc. Not to mention that it's interpreted, thus slow. Generally most of the low level stuff is not available.
