This is the place to share tips and tricks for cooking as a vision impaired person. Whether it be a new recipe you've tried, a gadget you've found useful for everyday culinary tasks, or a question about how something is done or what a particular cooking term means.
Topics include, but are not necessarily limited to:
Recipes
How To's (E.g. How to boil an egg)
Equipment for the kitchen, perhaps something you've found particularly helpful
Cooking Terms (E.g. Folding, poaching, blanching etc)
Ingredients and substitutes, such as Splenda or Stevia instead of sugar
Recipes and ingredients for glutin free, diabetes friendly or vegetarian dishes etc
Practical suggestions for serving or catering for a group
Where to start, if you've never cooked before
Baking tips and tricks
Dishes from other countries and cultures
Accessible recipe websites or podcasts
The list goes on.
To make the group as relevant as possible, I would like to request that there are no one word or one line replies just to agree with something another member has expressed. Please message the person off list if you would like to post such replies, to keep the group from becoming unnecessarily cluttered.
All that aside, and with the usual cautionary administrator jargon applicable and out of the way, remember that this is your place to ask questions and give advice. No question is a silly question, and you'll be surprised to learn how many of us have often wondered the same thing.
