Cool features of the new Klango.Net Website

| Share

On December 1st, we opened a new version of the Klango Network website.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with cool new features available here.

Voice messaging, audio themes and notifications on the web

Klango Network is about audio. You should know that voice messaging is free in the Klango Network now, and now it's available also via your web browser..

  • Yes, voice messaging via the website! You can send voice messages from here, just start composing a new message and select the voice message type. It would be good, however, if you first try how it works for you (or how your microphone works) on the Audio Recording Test Page.
  • It's a non-standard web feature, so performing some tests first is a good idea.
  • That's not all. You can send voice messages using also the IVONA TTS voices (instead of your own voice). Cool, huh? Just select the "TTS message" type while composing your message.
  • Of course you can listen to all types of voice messages at the website and in Klango Player. And here you can test how does audio work in your browser: Audio Playback Test Page. Please test it also on your mobile phone!
  • Web audio themes are the next thing we are experimenting with. We created two basic audio themes and the web site uses them to notify you about Klango events (the "What's new" mechanism), mark links which have something new behind them and play confirmation/error sounds.

Three new social networking features for Klango

We introduced three new, very useful social networking features which are available directly on your Klango home page: your board, quick statuses and selections.

  • Your board is your private space in the Klango Network. It works like a private forum where only you are allowed to create new threads. It's like facebook's wall and it's the most important part of your profile page. You can update your board directly from your home page.
  • The "Quick statuses" feature gives a new interface to regular Klango statuses. You can collect statuses you use and quickly switch beetween them on your home page.
  • The "your selections" feature is yet another, powerful time saver. By clicking the "edit selection" link on your home page you can select your most important friends, groups and forums to be permanently displayed on your home page. This way you have access to them right after you sign in.

Klango.Net as your web tool

We decided that our new website should be also a tool, a web tool. There are two most important "objects of interest" in WWW and on this new website we give you tools to work with them.

  • Links, URLs, addresses to web pages are the first kind of such objects. New klango.net website allows you to have your most important links saved in one place - in your Klango account. Your links have their place on your home page
  • Notes, fragments of web pages are the second type of objects you can work with. Now, on the new klango.net you can collect and edit various pieces of text and have them available where ever you are. Remember: this web site is available in your phone too!
  • The Klango WebTool is a special tool which can be glued to your web browser to make collecting links, web pages' fragments and notes a lot easier. Your browser takes the WebTool with you to all web pages you are visiting. If you'd like to save an address or a note with a fragment of a web page - just click it. It will remember the selected fragment and connect you to your Klango.Net account where you will make a decision what you want to do with it. Sounds complicated, but works great, also for your time. Click here to get your WebTool.

Let's start from Klango.Net!

We'd like our Klango.net home pages to be the best candidates for our start page in our web browsers. So, let's set "http://klango.net" as our browsers' start pages and discuss what is missing on them!

What do you do in internet after you start your computer and web browser? What are you looking for then? And ...what should be added to you Klango home page? What is missing there? (We are sure there are tons of such missing things.) In which way they should be presented to be perfect in terms of interaction? What kinds of objects you'd like to have available on every computer (and phone) you use?
Please do such experiment and share with us your suggestions
